Violinist

Hugo Meder is emerging as one of the most promising violinists of his generation. Praised by critics, Le Monde describes his playing as “intense,” while Bachtrack highlights that he “recalls the great violins of the past ... without ever giving the impression of imitation.”

A laureate of prestigious international competitions — including the ARD in Munich, Lyon, Melbourne, Osaka, and the Haydn Competition in Vienna — he has built a passionate career as a chamber musician and accomplished soloist. He has performed as a soloist with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, the Orchestre des Lauréats du Conservatoire, and the Orchestre Appassionato.

Born into a family of winemakers in Alsace, Hugo Meder began studying the violin at the Strasbourg Conservatory with Ana Reverdito-Haas. In 2016, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied violin with Alexis Galpérine and chamber music with Claire Désert. He graduated in 2021 with honors and continued his studies in the Artist Diploma program. Since 2022, he has been an artist in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Élisabeth in Belgium.

A founding member of the Trio Pantoum, alongside Kojiro Okada (piano) and Bogeun Park (cello), he has received guidance from musicians such as Thomas Adès and members of the Alban Berg, Ysaÿe, Ébène, and Arditti Quartets. Their debut album, Modern Times (La Dolce Volta, 2025), was praised by Le Monde and received a Diapason Découverte.

In 2025 and 2026, Hugo Meder will perform at prestigious venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Bouffes du Nord, and will also tour the United States, Denmark, and Germany.
