Two former prizewinners of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition of Belgium, pianist Jonathan Fournel and cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière, reunite in Châlons-en-Champagne for an exceptional recital. Their musical rapport is showcased in a programme where virtuosity meets expressive depth: Kodály’s Cello Sonata, with its uniquely rhapsodic richness; Dohnányi’s Sonata, marked by romantic colours and fiery impulses; and Brahms’s Sonata No. 2, a major work in which intensity, lyricism and the spirit of chamber music engage in dialogue. A rare evening, brought to life by two artists at the height of their art.
