Driven by a desire to share the human and universal values of music, Arthur Heuel explores the world of the cello with passion, curiosity, and high standards. Convinced of the expressive richness and the many faces of his instrument, he seeks to create dialogue between styles and eras, advocating with equal commitment for the classical repertoire, contemporary creation, and traditional music.
Deeply devoted to chamber music, Arthur Heuel performs at festivals such as Verbier, Aix-en-Provence, and La Roque-d’Anthéron, and on prestigious stages including the Philharmonie de Paris, Salle Gaveau, La Seine Musicale, the National Concert Hall in Dublin, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
His encounters with composers such as Philippe Manoury, Tristan Murail, Philippe Schoeller, and Gilbert Amy have left a lasting impact on his artistic path and nurtured his dedication to musical creation. These privileged collaborations have led him to take part in numerous contemporary music projects, notably within the Présences and Ravel festivals, where he passionately champions the music of today.
Trained at the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt with Pascale Michaca and then Xavier Gagnepain, Arthur Heuel continued his studies at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in the class of Marc Coppey and Pauline Bartissol. His development has been enriched by musicians such as Gary Hoffman, Lluis Claret, Jérôme Pernoo, and Valentin Erben, as well as through inspiring work with the Ébène and Modigliani Quartets and the Trio Wanderer.
In 2024, he joined the Quatuor Voce, with whom he now pursues an active career in France and abroad.
He plays an 1839 cello by Auguste Bernardel.
