This concert offers a musical journey where the lyrical warmth of Hungarian music meets the architectural power of Viennese Classicism.

Ern? Dohnányi’s Serenade for String Trio, Op. 10, opens the program with refined melodic charm and irresistible rhythmic elegance. Written in the late-Romantic style, it unfolds a rich palette of colors and nuanced dialogue between the instruments, creating a sound world that is both light and deeply expressive. The Serenade reveals Dohnányi’s innate gift for melody and harmony, offering performers and listeners alike a captivating musical landscape.

The program continues with Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 7 in F major, Op. 59 No. 1, the first of the renowned Razumovsky quartets. This monumental work showcases the composer’s bold harmonic language and rhythmic imagination, blending dramatic grandeur, propulsive energy, and expressive intensity. Between majestic passages, tightly woven exchanges, and moments of poetic subtlety, the quartet stands as one of the great achievements of Beethoven’s middle period and of the string-quartet repertoire.

Together, these two works offer a compelling panorama of chamber music for strings, where virtuosity, emotion, and poetry resonate with brilliance and refinement.
